Jeff Glor Biography
Jeff Glor (Full name: Jeffrey Todd Glor) is an American journalist. He is a correspondent and anchor at CBS News. Glor is the former managing editor of the CBS Evening News. As an actor, he is known for Under the Dome (2013).
Glor attended Kenmore East High School which is a public school in his hometown of Tonawanda, New York.
He later attended Syracuse University where he graduated magna cum laude in 1997 with dual degrees in economic and in journalism (from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications).
At Syracuse, Glor was awarded the Henry J.Wolff prize, which was given to the Newhouse student “most proficient in journalism.”

Jeff Glor Career
Jeff was co-anchor of WSTM-TV Syracuse’s 5 p.m. newscast and also a reporter for the 11 p.m. newscast (2000–2003). From 1997 to 2000, he was the morning news anchor. He then joined WSTM as a part-time producer while still attending college.
Jeff was named “Best Male News Anchor” by Syracuse New Times and one of the 40 most promising professionals under the age of 40.
He was a contributing researcher and writer on The Legal Handbook for N.Y. State Journalists. Glor served as weekend evening news anchor and also a weekday reporter for WHDH-TV in Boston from 2003–2007.

Glor then joined CBS News in 2007 as co-anchor, and later a newsreader, on the Saturday Early Show. Jeff also reported primarily for the weekday version of The Early Show which included an extended period in Iraq, China, and also on the presidential campaign in 2008.
Jeff anchored the Saturday edition of the CBS Evening News from 2009 to 2010. He also began to report for other broadcasts in 2009, including the CBS Evening News and CBS Sunday Morning, for which he won an Emmy.
From January 2011 to January 2012, Jeff served as the newsreader for The Early Show. Following that in 2012, he then anchored the Saturday edition of the newly launched CBS This Morning, the successor to The Early Show.
He also began to focus reporting on long-form stories as a correspondent for CBS This Morning. He anchored the Sunday edition of the CBS Evening News from 2012 to 2016.
Glor was also the correspondent on extended investigations for the CBS Evening News, including recalls at General Motors and Takata from 2013 to 2016. Jeff contributed a wide range of stories to 60 Minutes Sports from 2013 to 2016. Jeff also began filling in for Charlie Rose on his eponymous show on PBS.
Where Is Jeff Glor Now
On October 25, 2017, CBS announced that Jeff would become the new permanent anchor for the CBS Evening News in late 2017. He would replace Scott Pelley, who had left the position in June 2017.
After Pelley’s departure, Anthony Mason had been anchoring the program on an interim basis. On December 4, 2017, Jeff became the new permanent weekday anchor of the CBS Evening News.
Jeff Glor Leaves CBS Evening News
On Monday 6 May, 2019, CBS officially announced that Norah O’Donnell, who currently co-hosts “CBS This Morning” with Gayle King and John Dickerson, would take over as anchor and managing editor of “CBS Evening News”.
Dickerson was becoming a correspondent “for 60 Minutes”. CBS News’ senior national correspondent Anthony Mason and correspondent Tony Dokoupil are set to join King on “CBS This Morning”.
Glor closed Monday’s broadcast by briefly addressing the major shakeup at CBS News without mentioning his replacement, Norah O’Donnell.
O’Donnell is expected to formally take the job over the summer and she will move with the show from New York City to Washington, D.C. She will also become the network’s lead anchor for political coverage and also a contributing correspondent for “60 Minutes.”

The president of CBS Susan Zirinsky announced on May 30, 2019 that Glor would stay with the network. Glor joined Dana Jacobson and Michelle Miller as co-host of CBS This Morning: Saturday. He also serves as a CBS News special correspondent reporting feature stories and investigative reports for the network.
