Lindsay Czarniak is an American sports anchor and reporter. She grew up in Northern Virginia and graduated from Centreville High School in Clifton, Virginia. Czarniak then attended James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, where she earned a degree in online journalism.

After college, Czarniak began her career in television as a production assistant for CNN. She then worked as a reporter and anchor for several local news stations, including WTVR in Richmond, Virginia, and WRC-TV in Washington, D.C. In 2006, she was hired by ESPN as a Sports Center anchor, becoming the network’s first female anchor to regularly host the 6 p.m. edition of the program.

On October 15, 2011, Lindsay married WRC-TV reporter and weekend anchor Craig Melvin in Washington. Lindsay is the newsreader for Today and a cohost of Today Third Hour. She gave birth to their firstborn child, a son in March 2014.

Lindsay announced on June 16, 2016, that she was pregnant again on Sports Center before that night’s Game 6 of the 2016 NBA Finals in Cleveland. In November 2016, she gave birth to their second child, a daughter.
