Eliott Rodriguez is a well-known American journalist who currently serves as the co-anchor of the CBS4 News at 5, 6, and 11 pm in Miami, Florida.
He attended Long Island University where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism. He then went on to pursue a Master’s degree in Journalism from Columbia University in New York City.
After completing his education, Rodriguez began his career in journalism as a reporter for WTVJ-TV in Miami in 1980. He spent several years working for various news organizations across the country, including WBBM-TV in Chicago, where he served as a reporter and anchor.

Rodriguez joined WFOR-TV (CBS4) in Miami in 1999. There, he is the main news anchor and hosts the weekly public affairs program 4Sunday Morning. Rodriguez was replaced by Antonio Mora as the main anchor in January 2008.
Eliot went to the Noon and 5:30 newscasts. Mora’s contract was not renewed and Rodriguez went back to the 5:00, 6:00 and 11:00 weekday newscasts in December 2012.
He has traveled to Cuba on several reporting assignments, including a trip during which he interviewed Fidel Castro.
He has reported from the Vatican on the Pope’s health, and from Death Row for the execution of a convicted killer. Rodriguez has also covered important stories include the invasion of Panama, the Mexico City earthquake, Hurricane Andrew, political conventions and elections in Venezuela and Nicaragua.
He has served as moderator for a statewide televised debate between Florida gubernatorial candidates Rick Scott and Charlie Crist. The incident brought national and international attention to the event and was dubbed “Fangate” due to a delay over the use of a portable fan. His handling of the incident earned him praise.
He received two Emmy Awards for local news reporting in 2001 and 2004 and also two Edward R. Murrow Awards.
