Grant Show (Alan) is an American actor. He grew up in San Jose, California, where he attended college at UCLA and studied theater.

Show started his acting career in the mid-1980s, appearing in several television series such as “Ryan’s Hope,” “The Love Boat,” and “Dynasty.”

However, the popular primetime soap opera “Melrose Place” cast him as Jake Hanson in 1992, which became his breakthrough role. Show’s portrayal of Jake, a brooding and handsome aspiring writer, made him a heartthrob among viewers.

After “Melrose Place,” Show continued to appear in numerous television series, including “Accidentally on Purpose,” “Private Practice,” “Devious Maids,” and “The Family Law.” He has also made guest appearances in shows such as “Burn Notice,” “CSI: Miami,” and “Big Love.”

In addition to his television work, Show has also acted in several films, including “The Possession,” “The Girl Next Door,” and “Mother’s Day.”

Melrose Place was a spin-off of the popular TV series, Beverly Hills 90210, and aired from 1992 to 1999. An apartment complex in Los Angeles was the setting of the show, which focused on the lives and relationships of a group of young adults.

Both audiences and critics acclaimed Jake’s performance as a central character in the show who participated in many of the dramatic storylines throughout the series. He remained a main cast member on the show for five seasons, from 1992 to 1997.

Since his time on Melrose Place, Grant has continued to work as an actor in both film and television. He has appeared in a number of popular TV shows, including Private Practice, Devious Maids, and Dynasty.

Two years later, they cancelled the show. However, Grant later expressed regret about his decision to leave, despite disliking the scripts during his final season.

Show has since starred in a number of television movies, including Blessed Assurance with Cicely Tyson, Between Love and Honor with Robert Loggia, and also Homeland Security with Tom Skerritt and was one of the leads in the short-lived Fox Network supernatural drama Point Pleasant in 2005.

He has made a guest appearance for three episodes in HBO’s acclaimed series Six Feet Under in 2002, and also in 2006 he guest-starred on two episodes of the ABC Family show Beautiful People, alongside former Melrose Place co-star Daphne Zuniga.

Show appeared in three episodes of the FX show Dirt in 2007, playing a closeted gay action movie hero, Jack Dawson. He starred in the short-lived CBS summer drama series Swingtown as an airline pilot, Tom Decker in 2008.
