Bila grew up in Staten Island and attended Wagner College, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and a minor in Business Administration.
After college, Bila worked in the education field and taught at a private school in New York City for several years. In 2009, she began writing political commentary for various publications, including The Daily Caller, Human Events, and Newsmax. Her writing caught the attention of Fox News, and she became a regular guest on the network’s shows.

She appeared as a guest on Hannity and Red Eye in 2011. She soon expanded her role as a commentator to other networks such as CNBC and MSNBC. He joined the Fox News team in 2013 and in April 2014, Bila began working as a co-host and panelist on Outnumbered, The Five, and also other programs.

Bila announced her departure from Fox News to join ABC’s The View as a permanent co-host for the show’s 20th season in August 2016. She often was the lone contrarian voice on the show among a panel of liberals. She addressed controversial topics during her run.
Her guests were ranging from politicians such as Hillary Clinton and Donald Rumsfeld to performers Lin Manuel Miranda and Sarah Jessica Parker. On September 18, 2017, she departed The View. She later made a return guest appearance on the show on October 17, 2018.
Bila hosted the Lifetime special Abby Tells All in 2017. In 2018, she appeared on The Greg Gutfeld Show, co-hosted The Five, and also appeared on several Sirius XM shows.
