Jon Watts Biography
Jon Watts is an American film director, screenwriter, and producer. Watts is best known for directing and co-writing the Marvel Cinematic Universe superhero film Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) and its upcoming sequel Spider-Man: Far From Home.
Jon has also directed and co-wrote the horror film Clown (2014) and the road thriller film Cop Car (2015), as well as numerous episodes of the parody news series Onion News Network (2011).

The next film he directed was a horror movie called Clown. Jon made a fake trailer on YouTube with his friends about a dad turning into a killer clown and he was later approached by Eli Roth to make the trailer into a real movie with Jon being the director.

Jon then directed the film Cop Car. Cop Car is about two young boys who find an abandoned police car that they steal and get chased by the murderous owner. In an interview, Jon says the idea for this film came from a dream he had when he was a kid.

Jon then directed Spider-man: Homecoming. He was very determined to be the director for this film that he admits that he “bothered” Marvel by sending them clips of a fake trailer he made for a Spider-man movie.
He also wanted to stand out in the field so he decided to get a Spider-man tattoo on his chest and ended up getting the job. Jon admits that he was very surprised and didn’t know he was going to get the job until the last moment.
