Mackenzie Bart Biography
Mackenzie Bart is an American forecaster for ABC7. She earned the title of Miss Ohio 2014 and made it to the final 10 at Miss America.
She also had the opportunity to compete in the prestigious Miss America Scholarship Competition live on ABC. She attended The Ohio State University where she graduated majoring in Communications and a minor in Atmospheric Sciences.
She was named the winner of the reality show, America’s Next Weatherman, a series on TBS, the brainchild of Funny or Die, Mark Burnett as a college student in 2015. She also won the grand cash prize and had the opportunity to present the forecast on CNN’s New Day.
Bart stopped at Good Morning America and The Today Show to forecast the weather with her puppet, Roxy at her side after Miss America. She had the opportunity of addressing legislators about the need for a National and Universal Newborn Screening test to save babies lives, and also for saving the Performing Arts Education programs in schools.

Bart grew up experiencing her grandparents’ obsession for the weather and later witnessed the destruction from the EF5 Tornado in Joplin, Missouri, while traveling the country for an instructional summer camp job just after graduating from high school. Bart was the first person in her family to go to college.
Bart has a younger sister Meme who suffers from Smith Lemil Opitz Syndrome, which means that her body does not produce cholesterol. Meme has also been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes.
Due to this experience with her sister, Bart promotes universal newborn screenings.

Bart has also modeled both in print and runway and has also been a Covergirl model and ambassador for several major companies such as BEBE clothing, Anderson High School supplies, Pottery Barn, Seventeen Magazine, Savy Magazine and Supermodels Unlimited.
Prior to her senior year in college, she captured the title of Miss Ohio 2014 and had the opportunity to compete in the prestigious Miss America Scholarship Competition live on ABC. She then chose to demonstrate her finely tuned ventriloquism abilities with her energetic puppet, Roxy at her side, to win The Miss America Preliminary Talent Award.
She committed to her year of service as Miss Ohio by traveling over 38,000 miles to visit, among other places, every single children’s hospital and also veteran’s home in the states of Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. Mackenzie also educated many students about STEM.
She made it to the final 10 at Miss America, and also earned a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) scholarship and a total of $39,000 to help fund her education.

Bart joined the ABC7 Weather Team in May 2017. She continues to work as a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and saw first-hand the devastation of the tornado that struck Moore, Oklahoma in 2013. She also supports disaster relief and many other community non-profit organizations.
