Margaret DeVogelaere Biography
Margaret DeVogelaere also known as Parky Fonda is the third wife and widow of legendary and award-winning actor and director, Peter Fonda. Fonda died on Friday 16 August 2019 in Los Angeles surrounded by his family.
He is best known for his Oscar-nominated film, Easy Rider, a movie which he starred in, co-wrote and produced. He was again nominated for an Academy Award for his performance in 1998’s Ulee’s Gold and never retired from the film industry.

Margaret has not yet disclosed any information regarding her father, mother and siblings. She is the daughter-in law Henry Fonda and Frances Ford Seymour. She is a sister-in-law to actress Jane Fonda and Frances De Villers Brokaw.

Parky met the Easy Rider star in 1974 and her father did not like him. The couple officially tied the knot on Father;s Day in 2011. On their wedding day in Hawaii, Fonda went ahead to share on Instagram, “My beautiful wife a year or two after we met in Lahaina in ’74…. Da Kine!! She’s wearing the first ring I gave her and the earrings I bought her the first time I met her. Her father was very suspicious. He wasn’t keen on her being with me. He suggested that I was a commie! He had told her that she was NEVER going to date an actor.”
Parky rarely shared on social media but she documented vacations with Peter to vineyards, New York City. She fangirled over her husband hanging out with fellow veteran actor Christopher Plummer. She also tweeted a proud post of peter’s latest feats that included Easy Rider making its way to Broadway.
After their marriage, Fonda went on to star in films. Peter filmed a two-episode guest star on CSI:NY and appeared on Hawaii Five-O. He also compelete work on the film, The Magic Hours, and he starred as Skylar in the movie, Skate God, which is set to be released in 2020.
The couple regularly attended all of Tinseltown’s high-profile events. Parky and Fonda walked the red carpet at numerous movie premieres, and award shows. They attended the American Film Institute’s 44th Life Achievement Award Gala Tribute to John Williams in 2016, and the Pre-Grammy Gala and Salute to Industry Icons Honoring Debra Lee in 2017.

Parky has two step children from Fonda’s previous marriage to Susan Brewer, actress Bridget Fonda and Justin Fonda. Bridget is known for her roles in The Godfather Part III (1990), Single White Female (1992), Singles (1992), Point of No Return (1993), It Could Happen to You (1994) and also Jackie Brown (1997). She stopped acting in 2003 after she was involved in a car accident that caused a fracture in her vertebra.

Peter Fonda, died on Friday 16th August 2019 surrounded by his family at his home in Los Angeles. The Easy Rider star died from respiratory failure caused by lung cancer. He died at the age of 79. Parky released the statement of her husband’s death on behalf of the entire family.
“In one of the saddest moments of our lives, we are not able to find the appropriate words to express the pain in our hearts. As we grieve, we ask that you respect our privacy,” the family said in the statement, via The Washington Post. “And, while we mourn the loss of this sweet and gracious man, we also wish for all to celebrate his indomitable spirit and love of life. In honor of Peter, please raise a glass to freedom.”

Parky is not an actress. However, she appeared as herself in the Andy Bowles film, How We Covered It, which was released in 2013. It showed a film festival experience as see through his eyes, and his team of red carpet anchors as the covered a 10-day celebrity filled event. The documentary also starred Ann Margaret, Conor Allyn, G.W. Bailey, and Tanner Beard.
