Rudi Bakhtiar is an Iranian-American journalist who is best known for her work as a news anchor. And correspondent for CNN and Headline News (HLN). She is the first Iranian American journalist to anchor a prime time news hour in the United States. Called “CNN Headline News Tonight”.

Bakhtiar attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Where she received a degree in Mass Communications and Political Science.

After college, Bakhtiar worked as a reporter and anchor for local television stations in California, Texas, and Oregon. In 1996, she joined CNN as a general assignment reporter in the Los Angeles bureau.

She later moved to the network’s Atlanta headquarters. Where she worked as an anchor and correspondent for CNN and HLN.

Bakhtiar was born to Iranian immigrants of Bakhtiar heritage. She has a younger brother and younger sister. Her father died of or pharyngeal cancer in 2005.

Shapour Bakhtiar is Rudi’s father’s uncle, the last prime minister of Iran under Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. Her great aunt was the Shah of Iran’s second wife (Soraya Esfandiary). Rudi’s great-grandfather is named Sardar Jang.

At the age of two, her family moved from Fresno, California, to Los Angeles. Her family moved back to Iran when she was five.

She was raised in Iran until the 1979 Iranian Revolution when her family moved back to the United States when she was 17. Bakhtiar loved to ride horses as a child.

In 2004, Bakhtiar joined the newly launched news channel, Al Jazeera English, where she worked as a news anchor and correspondent.

In 2007, Bakhtiar filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against her former employer, CNN. She alleged that a former executive, who had been her supervisor, had made unwanted sexual advances towards her. The case was settled out of court.

After leaving Al Jazeera English in 2009, Bakhtiar worked as a freelance journalist, contributing to various media outlets, including The Huffington Post and The Daily Beast.

She has also worked as a media consultant and trainer, helping organizations to improve their media relations.

In recent years, Bakhtiar has been involved in advocacy work, focusing on issues related to women’s rights, gender equality, and human rights.

She has served as a board member of several organizations, including the International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran and the National Iranian American Council.
