Saquon Barkley is an American football running back for the New York Giants of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Penn State, where he was a consensus All-American and the 2017 Heisman Trophy runner-up.
Barkley was born in Coplay, Pennsylvania, and attended Whitehall High School. He was a five-star recruit and the top-ranked running back in the class of 2015. He committed to play college football at Penn State over offers from Alabama, Clemson, and Ohio State.
As a true freshman at Penn State, Barkley rushed for 1,076 yards and seven touchdowns. As a sophomore, Barkley rushed for 1,496 yards and 18 touchdowns, and was named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year and a consensus All-American.
