Selma Blair Beitner is an American actress who gained fame for her leading role in the film Brown’s Requiem (1998). She made her breakthrough when she starred as Zoe Bean on the WB sitcom Zoe, Duncan, Jack and Jane (1999–2000), and also as Cecile Caldwell in the cult film Cruel Intentions (1999).

Blair’s parents divorced when she was young, and her father remarried the renowned judge of the 22nd Circuit Court in Michigan, Judge Nancy W. Bank.

Blair has one older sister, Katherine Beitner. She has a son named Arthur Saint Bleick, who was born in 2011. His father is Jason Bleick, a fashion designer. Blair and Bleick were together from 2010 to 2012.

In 2018, doctors diagnosed Blair with multiple sclerosis, which prompted her to take a break from acting and focus on her health. However, she made a comeback to the screen in 2019, playing a guest role on the TV show “Another Life” and making a cameo appearance in the film “Jay and Silent Bob Reboot.”

Blair won a Teen Choice Award for her role in “Cruel Intentions” and received a Grammy Award nomination for narrating the audiobook version of “The Diary of Anne Frank.” Additionally, she is renowned for actively advocating and raising awareness about multiple sclerosis through her activism work.
