Stacey David Biography
Stacey David is an American television host, producer, and mechanic. He is probably best known for hosting the television series “Trucks!” and “Stacey David’s GearZ” on MavTV and Velocity.
The types of vehicles he works on range from off-road four-wheel drives to hot rod street trucks to around the woods all-terrain vehicles. It is just about anything else that has an engine and some way to steer it.
He was supposed to be studying Biology at Boise State University but was instead learning performance driving at the local tracks. He was taking in all the information he could about the “Greats like Richard Petty, Don Garlits, and Carroll Shelby. “I like it all! If it will run, I want to drive it.”

The services that “Rattletrap” offered included engine building, custom paint, fabrication, and more.

His career took a turn to “TV land” when, in the late 1990s, he was offered a position to host the TV series Trucks!. Eager to seize the opportunity, he joined Mel Fair to host the show beginning in its 1999 season. In 2000, however, Mel left the show and David remained the only host.
In the eight years time, he hosted Trucks!, the show became one of the highest-rated on Spike TV’s weekend lineup partially because he both designed and built his own projects, unlike many other shows during the same period. The show maintained the highest viewership of any automotive how-to television show throughout the years he hosted it.

He continued to host and produce Trucks! until the end of the 2005 season. He then chose to pursue, in his own words, “other opportunities”. He revealed a new show on March 31, 2007, Stacey David’s Gearz which aired on ESPN2.
Season two of the show moved to the Speed Channel, with the first episode premiering February 23, 2008. It remained on the SPEED channel for six seasons.
Its Season eight moved to MavTV, with the first episode premiering March 7, 2014. Season nine was also syndicated on Velocity (TV network) with its 11th Season premiering on January 2017.
