Harry Crosby born Harry Lillis Crosby III is an American former film and television actor, an investment banker, and philanthropist.

He is known for Friday the 13th (1980), Hollow Venus: Diary of a Go-Go Dancer (1989) and Double Trouble (1984).

Harry has been in investment banking since 1985 and he is a partner at Cranemere. Crosby attended the London Academy of Music. And Dramatic Art from 1977 to 1980 and earned an MBA at Fordham Graduate School of Business Administration.

Harry was born the fifth son of singer and actor Bing Crosby. Crosby is the eldest child from Bing’s second marriage to actress Kathryn Crosby. He is the elder brother of Nathaniel Crosby and Mary Crosby.

He is also the younger half-brother of Gary, Dennis, Phillip and Lindsay Crosby; the half-uncle of Denise Crosby, and the nephew of Bob Crosby and Larry Crosby.

Lindsay Crosby died in 1989 and Dennis Crosby in 1991, both by suicide from self-inflicted gunshot wounds. Gary Crosby died in 1995 of lung cancer at the age of 62 and 69-year-old Phillip Crosby died in 2004 of a heart attack.

He became managing director of the Credit Suisse Financial Sponsors Group in 1993, where he established key relationships. Harry later became group head and managing director of North America Financial Sponsors Group at Merrill Lynch, where he managed clients such as KKR, Carlyle and Bain.


He became general partner at Snow Phipps, a private equity firm specializing in leveraged acquisitions, build-ups, recapitalizations, restructuring, and growth equity investments, of small to middle market companies in 2005.

Harry was involved in the firm’s sale of Excel Mining Systems to Orica for approximately $670mn.

Harry became general partner at Cranemere, investing in middle market private companies in North America, Germany and Austria in 2012. He has also served on a number of other corporate boards, which include that of Excel Mining Systems.

Harry has served on philanthropic boards, which include the Monterey Peninsula Foundation, a charitable organization that funds education, health, human services, arts, community and environmental projects.

As a trained musician, Harry is also an active fundraiser and board member of Jazz at Lincoln Center, which is a major performing arts institution structured as a non-profit organization and housed at the Time Warner Center in Manhattan, New York.

Crosby has worked alongside the likes of Wynton Marsalis, jazz trumpeter and artistic director of Jazz at Lincoln Center.
