Adam Eaton Biography

Adam Eaton (born: Adam Cory Eaton) is an American professional baseball outfielder for the Washington Nationals of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut in 2012 with the Arizona Diamondbacks and played with them through the 2013 season. Eaton played for the Chicago White Sox from 2014 to 2016. Previously before playing professionally, he played college baseball for Miami University.

Cory attended Kenton Ridge High School in Springfield, Ohio. Along with Kenton Ridge, Eaton became the fourth player to reach the major leagues, ahead of Dave Burba, Rick White and Dustin Hermanson.

A pitcher and outfielder in high school, his 2006 junior season fastball was able to hit 92 mph while hitting .482. Kenton then led his team to the 2004 and 2005 Regional Finals.

He received an honorable mention in All-Ohio this year. As a sophomore and junior, he earned a spot on the All-Miami Valley First Team and the Springfield News-Sun All-Area First Team.

In December 2013. Eaton was traded from the Arizona Diamondbacks to the Chicago White Sox in a three-team trade that also involved the Los Angeles Angels.

2016 Dec. Eaton was traded from the White Sox to the Washington Nationals in exchange for three young players: Lucas Giolito, Reynaldo Lopez, and Dane Dunning.

Eaton signed as a free agent with the Chicago White Sox. Returning to the team he had played for earlier in his career In December 2020.
