Gina Esposito Biography

Gina Esposito is an American news reporter joining the Eyewitness News Daybreak team as a morning reporter in May 2016. She was previously in KKTV 11 News in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

She began her career as a reporter on the west side of the state at KJCT News 8 in Grand Junction, Colorado. Gina attended San Jose State University and earned a degree in Broadcast Journalism. She then worked as an anchor/reporter for SJSU’s Update News. Gina also served as the Vice President for Radio-Television-Digital-News-Association (RTDNA).

Before being a reporter, she worked as an Educational Leadership Consultant for Alpha Xi Delta Fraternity. As a proffessional consultant, Esposito travelled to more than 15 states (mostly in the south east), and visited nearly 20 universities across the country.

Several of its chapters were located in North Carolina and South Carolina. She also loved the area.

She attended Carondelet High School in Concord, CA. The school is a an all-girl Catholic School, located directly across from the all-boy school, De La Salle, which is known for their football program. She then went on to San Jose State University where she earned her B.S. in Journalism, emphasis in TV/Radio graduating Cum Laude. She was also a member of Order of Omega, a greek honor society.

Gina was also a founder member of Alpha Xi Delta’s chapter at SJSU. She interned at KTVU-Fox 2, a TV station in Oakland, CA in 2011 and shadowed reporters and anchors, and would pull content for the shows.

She was born in Overland Park, KS, but moved to the San Francisco Bay Area when she was 5-years-old.  Esposito has not shared any information regarding her age, date of birth or when she celebrates her birthday.

She also had the amazing opportunity to intern at the station she grew up watching, KTVU Channel 2 News in Oakland, California. She shadowed Emmy-winning reporters at KTVU.

In Colorado, Esposito covered the Aurora Theater Shooting Trial, Republican Presidential Debate in Boulder, Colorado, Legalization of Recreational Marijuana and Legalization of Same-Sex Marriage. Colorado also allowed her to cover major weather events, like floods, fires, blizzards, and tornadoes. Gina worked in the the station’s bureau office in Pueblo, Colorado.

She moved to Charlotte, NC in 2016 and started working as a reporter for WSOC-TV. Gina’s first story at the station involved a tractor trailer that overturned, spilling potatoes over I-77 near Uptown Charlotte. She has also covered the protests that followed the Keith Scott Shooting.
