Brian Snitker is a baseball coach and former player who currently manages the Atlanta Braves of Major League Baseball (MLB). He has been in the Braves organization in different roles since becoming a minor league player in 1977.
Snitker played baseball in college at the University of New Orleans. The Braves drafted him in the 25th round of the 1977 MLB draft. He played in the minor leagues for several years before making his major league debut with the Braves in 1981. He played for the Braves for parts of three seasons as a catcher and outfielder.
After retiring as a player, Snitker became a coach in the Braves’ minor league system. He spent over two decades coaching in the minors. Working his way up the ranks to become a manager at various levels. In 2013, they promoted him to manage the Triple-A Gwinnett Braves.
