Bill Press Biography
Bill Press is an American political commentator, radio host, author, and journalist. He grew up in Delaware and attended the University of Delaware, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in 1962. He then attended the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and received his Master’s degree in 1963.
As a columnist, Bill’s weekly column is syndicated by Tribune Content Agency. Bill was also chairman of the California Democratic Party from 1993 to 1996.
Press attended Salesianum School, a Roman Catholic secondary school in Wilmington, in 1958. He then moved to Niagara University from which he gained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy. He also gained a Bachelor of Sacred Theology degree from University of Fribourg.

Press is married to Carol Press, an award-winning weaver. Carol Press weaves luxurious scarves in her Washington, DC home studio and her husband shows support for her work by promoting her hand-weave designs of fabric through his social media. The accomplished weaver weaves her beautiful scarves through a Macomber loom.
The couple has two sons, Mark and David, and five grandchildren. He is a long time resident of Inverness, California, where he raised his sons from, having moved there in 1970. They are a closely knit family as they spend time together regularly. Bill and his wife now live in Washington, DC.

He began his career in politics as an aide to California State Senator Peter Behr. He later served as the chair of the California Democratic Party from 1993 to 1996.
Press has worked as a political commentator for CNN, MSNBC, and Fox News. He hosted his own television show, “The Bill Press Show,” on Free Speech TV and was a regular guest on “The Stephanie Miller Show.” He also hosted a nationally syndicated radio show, “The Bill Press Show,” from 2005 to 2018.
In addition to his work in media, Press has written several books on politics, including “How The Republicans Stole Christmas” and “Bush Must Go: The Top Ten Reasons Why George Bush Doesn’t Deserve A Second Term.”
Press is known for his progressive political views and has been a vocal advocate for issues such as campaign finance reform, universal healthcare, and marriage equality.
