Jared Goff Biography
Jared Goff (Thomas) is an American football quarterback for the Los Angeles Rams of National Football League (NFL). Goff played college football at California and was also a first-team All-Pac-12 quarterback in 2015.
Goff attended Marin Catholic High School in Kentfield, California, where he was a standout football player. He threw for 7,687 yards and 93 touchdowns in his high school career, and was named the California State Player of the Year as a senior.
In 2013, Goff enrolled at the University of California, Berkeley, where he played college football for the California Golden Bears. He started as the team’s quarterback for three seasons, from 2013 to 2015.
During his college career, Goff set numerous school and conference records, including most passing yards in a single season and most career passing yards. He was named first-team All-Pac-12 in both 2015 and 2016. In 2017, he earned a Pro Bowl selection.
In January 2021, the Rams traded Goff to the Detroit Lions as part of a blockbuster trade that involved sending Matthew Stafford to the Rams.
Off the field, people know Goff for his charitable work. He has worked with organizations such as Make-A-Wish and the Boys and Girls Club, and has also established his own foundation, the Goff Foundation, which supports youth organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area.
