Jeané Coakley Biography
Jeané Coakley is an American anchor and sports reporter. She contributes to the SNY’s sports and entertainment news shows, including “SportsNite,” “Daily News Live” and “Loud Mouths.” Coakley also serves as the SNY’s lead New York Jets beat reporter.
Coakley has won several AP awards for her reporting and a regional Emmy. When not covering a sporting event, Coakley is probably running. She has run a marathon in every state she has lived in. She also went skydiving with the Army’s Golden Knights, flew with the Navy’s Blue Angels, driven a NASCAR. She has also ridden around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in a 2-seater IndyCar, and NASCAR driven by Sam Hornish, Jr.

Coakley played soccer, volleyball, softball, and was even a gymnast in high school. Being a true competitor, she won several awards on the sports field including being named to the All-State volleyball and softball teams her senior year.
Coakley graduated magna cum laude from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Ct. She majored in communications and minored in history. After her graduation, Coakley packed up her Volkswagen Jetta and moved to Billings, Montana where she was then a news producer.

Coakley got her first on-air sports job at KYMA in Yuma, Arizona. She later headed to the midwest where she accepted a job as a sports reporter at WISH-TV in Indianapolis in 2006. At WISH-TV, she covered all sports including the Colts, Pacers, Indianapolis 500, Brickyard 400, Big Ten football and also basketball as well as the Indianapolis Tennis Championship featuring Andy Roddick and James Blake. She won an Emmy Award in 2010 for her coverage of the Jets.

Coakley joined SportsNet New York where she is the beat reporter for the New York Jets. She has traveled the country covering sports. Coakley also covered everything from the Super Bowl, March Madness, Indy 500, Brickyard 400, to the rodeo, and of course high school football, basketball, and baseball.
She has filled in for Chris Carlin, Gary Apple, Brian Custer, Jonas Schwartz, Eamon McAnaney, Michelle Yu, Kirk Gimenez, Kerith Burke, Steve Gelbs and C.J Papa for a segment on New York Mets Season Games which is called Game Break.
