Peter Bergen is an American journalist and author. He serves as CNN’s national security analyst, New America’s vice president, and as a professor of practice at Arizona State University. Peter is known for producing the first television interview with Osama bin Laden in 1997.

He is also a Professor of Practice at the School of Politics and Global Studies at Arizona State University. There, he is the co-director of the Center on the Future of War, a research fellow at Fordham University’s Center on National Security, and also CNN’s national security analyst.

Bergen has held teaching positions at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University
and also the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University.

Peter is on the editorial board of Studies in Conflict & Terrorism which is the leading scholarly journal in the field. He has also testified before multiple congressional committees, including the U.S. House of Representatives Homeland Security Committee and the U.S.
