Baisden began his career in radio in 1989, working as a salesperson for a local station in Chicago. Eventually landed his first on-air job in 1991 at 98.7 KISS-FM in New York City.
Millions of listeners knew him for his nationally aired “The Show” from 2005 to 2013, which featured a mix of music, humor, social commentary, and relationship advice. Over 100 radio stations across the country syndicated the show.
In addition to his radio work, Baisden has also written several books, including “Men Cry in the Dark,” “The Maintenance Man,” and “Never Satisfied: How and Why Men Cheat.” Has also produced several stage plays, including “Men Cry in the Dark,” which was based on his book of the same name.
Baisden has received numerous awards for his work, including the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Literary Work in 2002 for “Men Cry in the Dark” and the BET Humanitarian Award in 2012 for his work with the Foundation, which supports education, literacy, and youth development programs.
