During his initial steps as an actor, Sands played Toby in the HBO series Six Feet Under (2001–2005) and directed the short film Me and Daphne (2002), in which he also acted. He first appeared on the screen in Die, Mommie, Die! In 2003, she starred in ‘Daredevil’ and played a lead role with Richard Gere and Jennifer Lopez in ‘Shall We Dance’ in 2004. He also confirmed his talented abilities by playing Marine Lt. Nathaniel Fick in HBO’s Generation Kill in 2008.
