Fritz Wetherbee is an American television personality, author, and historian, best known for his work on New Hampshire Chronicle, a nightly magazine show on WMUR-TV. Wetherbee continues to live and work in New Hampshire, where he is regarded as a beloved figure and a passionate advocate for the state’s history and culture.

Wetherbee graduated from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, in 1965, with a degree in theater. He started his career as an actor, performing in Off-Broadway plays and television commercials. However, he eventually returned to New Hampshire to work on his family’s farm.

In the late 1970s, Wetherbee began writing columns for the Milford Cabinet, a local newspaper. He soon became a popular writer and began publishing his work in other newspapers throughout the state. In 1983, he published his first book, “New Hampshire: The First State.”
