Marquise Brown Biography
Marquise Brown (also known as Hollywood) is an American football wide receiver for the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League (NFL) born in Hollywood, Florida. He was drafted in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft.
Brown played college football at Oklahoma. He is also a cousin to a free-agent receiver, Antonio Brown. Brown played Pop Warner football in the same Florida league with Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson though the two were on different teams.

He studied at South Broward High School in Hollywood, where he also ran track. He ran the 100 meters in a time of 11.53 seconds at the Florida High Schools Athletic Association’s 4A District 13 regional championship track meet. At this time, he was an eighth-grader.
Brown later transferred to Chaminade-Madonna College Preparatory School. At Madonna, he played football and also ran track improving his 100-meter time to 11.05 seconds at the Florida High Schools Athletic Association’s 2A District 15 regional championship track meet.
Shannon James Marquise Brown
Marquise was born to Shannon James. James has shared that Marquise had complications at birth, which sent her into hospitalized bed rest.
She has said that it was the worst pregnancy ever and the only thing Marquise would allow her to take was pizza from the mall. He was born four weeks early at just 5 pounds, 6 ounces – but he was healthy. His mother continued to have kidney failure which eventually put her on dialysis and prevented her from working consistently.
Making ends meet was especially that she was a single parent, a monthly struggle. James cut her hair on the side to make a little extra money and leaned on the family for support. Brown also has a sister.

Marquise Brown College Career
Marquise signed with the College of the Canyons for the 2016 season after not receiving any scholarships from Division 1 schools. He worked at Six Flags Magic Mountain to make ends meet since California Junior colleges do not offer sports scholarships.
He received several Division 1 scholarship offers, committing to Oklahoma after a year at College of the Canyons. Hollywood played all thirteen games, starting eight, and had a team-high 1,095 receiving yards, becoming the 8th all-time receiver in single-season yards.
Marquise also posted 265 yards against Oklahoma State, an Oklahoma record for receiving yards in a single game. Brown announced that he would forgo his final year of eligibility to declare for the 2019 NFL Draft on January 2, 2019.

Marquise was selected 25th overall by the Baltimore Ravens in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft. On June 7, 2019, Brown signed his rookie contract. Hollywood made his regular-season debut in a game against the Miami Dolphins on September 8, 2019, recording 4 receptions, 147 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns. He became the first player in NFL history to score 2 touchdowns of 40 yards or more in his first game.

Brown suffered a foot injury in the Big 12 Championship Game. On Friday, November 1, 2019, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh announced that he expected wide receiver Marquise aka Hollywood to return ahead of Week 9’s SNF Patriots-Ravens matchup. Brown had not played since Week 5.
